Biga- Good, romantic but nothing exceptional

Image
So, my parents and I all decided to go to a nice dinner to celebrate the fact that I passed my Fundamentals of Engineering test (it's basically the test that certifies engineers). So, we decided to go to an Italian restaurant that my sister highly recommends, Biga. I apologize that the pictures are a little on the dark side; the restaurant has a darker mood lighting. Overall, Biga is a very nice restaurant to go to. It has a lovely atmosphere and good food. It doesn't have the best food in the world but it is tasty. I would come here again. Parking- They have a nice parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Gluten free- Nothing specifically designated gluten free. I'd call ahead. Food allergies- I personally did not have any issues here. Food- The waiter told me an interesting tidbit of information: Biga makes most of their pasta fresh every day. The only exception is the penne. Apparently it is a big penne to make (har har). Biga serves bread to every tab

Joe Momma's- Bland on Bland

A group of friends all decided to go out to Joe Momma's pizza tonight. I was really excited because I have not been to Joe Momma's before. There are mixed reviews online, so I wanted to find out for myself how Joe Momma's stacked up. Conclusion- The place is so cool on the inside. Some of you may hate me for saying this but I can't lie. I wanted to like the food so much but it was insanely bland. Out of everything that I ate there, only one thing was OK. I am incredibly disappointed. I'm used to medium priced pizza's quality. This was worse than most low quality pizza. Parking- Joe Momma's is located downtown, so, it was street parking for us. Food Allergies- Shellfish N/A for Joe Momma's Gluten free- They have a 10" gluten free crust that you can order. I actually took pictures of the food but the food didn't even look good, so, I'm not going to waste my time; the point of pictures is that it shows off the food but there wasn't

Bamboo Thai Bistro- absolutely tasty curries

My friend and I are always on a search for good curry places. So, when my parents mentioned Bamboo Thai Bistro, we had to try it. Bamboo Thai Bistro is on the corner of 51st and Yale. Conclusion- I really enjoy this restaurant; it is cozy, nice and has amazing curries. We didn't actually try any of their other offerings but man, the curries are special. Parking- there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant. Food allergies- no issues with my shellfish allergies Gluten free- I don't think so. There is a lot of rice and noodles. I guess you could eat the curry sans rice. Food- My friend ordered the yellow curry and I ordered the peanut curry. They asked us what we wanted for the spice level and I said medium and my friend said hot. I like that you can customize on the spicy level. They also brought out free soup. Soup- Ok. This soup was a little different that I'm use to. It was almost sweet and sour. I honestly didn't like it but I can see why someone w
